Back Glass Replacement

Your rear windshield may seem INSIGNIFICANT; HOWEVER, it plays a vital role in the safety of your vehicle. IT is made from tempered or Laminate Glass (sometimes referred to as safety glass) and the strength of this type of glass helps to support the structural integrity of your vehicle in the event of a rear collision. In order to maintain your safety and the safety of anyone who may be in your vehicle, a quick and quality replacement is important.

Can You Just Repair My Back Glass?

The short answer is probably not. Have you ever noticed the thin lines in the glass on your rear windshield? Those are part of the defrost system for that piece of glass and are usually impossible to reconstruct. If you have a chip or a crack that goes across or is on one of those lines, a replacement is the best fix. If you only have a small chip or scratch, we may be able to repair it.

As part of your service our master technicians will assess the damage and determine the safest course of action. If you'd like to know ahead of time, text us a photo and we'll have an expert technician take a look!

How Long Does it Take?

Generally replacing back glass will take a little longer than any other piece of safety glass; about an hour and a half. Cleaning up the broken pieces of glass takes a considerable amount of time, some shops will even charge extra for the time it takes to clean your vehicle. We don't consider the job done until all visible glass is cleaned, and will never charge for cleaning up.
